Do I have to be a Christian to see Lori?

This question comes from two directions, and both deserve the same straight answer.

The short answer

No. Lori works with women and female students of any faith or none. She is a Licensed Independent Social Worker providing professional counseling, and faith is included only when a client wants it.

If faith is not part of your life

You will not be preached at, prayed over without permission, or handed Scripture. You will receive professional counseling, and your beliefs are not a project.

Many women come specifically for anxiety, grief, eating concerns or self-worth, and faith never comes up.

If faith matters deeply to you

You can speak freely about God, prayer, church and Scripture without translating for someone who does not share it. Lori is also a certified spiritual director, so those questions are familiar territory.

You still set the level. It can change from week to week.

If you are somewhere in the middle

Uncertain, questioning, angry, out of practice, or simply tired of the subject. All of that is welcome and none of it needs resolving before you make an appointment.

Common questions

Will faith come up if I do not raise it?

Not unless you want it to.

What if I am questioning my faith?

That is welcome here and will not be corrected.

What if I want a lot of faith in my counseling?

Then say so, and it can be part of the work throughout.

Reaching out can be the first step.
